We’re missionaries with Cadence International. Our mission is to serve the men and women of the US military through evangelism, bible studies and one-on-one discipleship. Our assignment is the Osan Hospitality House in Osan South Korea serving the Air Force community there. This video will give you sense of what House ministry looks like.
Our Korea assignment begins in January 2012 for two or more years depending on funding. We are committed to pouring out our lives into those that we are called serve. It is a great honor and privilege to be able to partner with our Lord Jesus Christ in transforming lives.
Michael is a native Oregonian, born and raised in the Sandy area. He joined the Air Force in 1987 and served for about 5 years in Texas and Alaska. After the Air Force he returned to Oregon where and worked in technology for several years. After a short term missions trip to China in 2002 it was obvious that God was calling him to full time ministry work. It has been a great adventure with God in these preparatory years to get here today. Michael is currently a student at Moody Bible College completing a degree in biblical studies through their online distance learning program.
Jonna was born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon. In her late teenage years her family moved to Gresham, Oregon and has lived in Oregon all her life. She attended Ecola Bible College for one year after graduating high school. She married Michael in 1993. Jonna had to privilege of being a stay at home mom for 4 children and is a home school teacher for Jonathan (Nate) and Sarah.
Sarah is 17, born and raised in Oregon and is the sweetest thing you’ll ever meet. She has mild Autism but that does not get her down. She has a precious heart and loves the Lord with all of it. She has a unique gift from God to penetrate the tough exteriors of people and share her heart and the Lord with them when others are unsuccessful. She has been home schooled for the last 4 years and should complete her high school education while we are in South Korea. Sarah’s primary goal in life is to be a wife and a mother.
Jonathan (Nate) is 16, born and raised in Oregon and currently a “red belt” in Taekwondo. He has been taking lessons for less than a year as of this writing and he is outstanding in his class. He works part time at the Dojang for his masters and there also receives some additional one-on-one training. He has competed now in two tournaments (one if Las Vegas) and has taken two Gold medals and 1 Bronze medal at each event. He is home schooled and should complete his education while we are in South Korea. Nate plans to either join the military or go onto college in a couple of years. He does not yet know what profession he will pursue but whatever it is he will do it for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
